So far, iPad keyboard cases seem to follow two schools of thought — the folio and the mini-clamshell — and while both have their merits, neither do the job quite as well as the set of chiclets on your standard netbook. Best Buy’s in-house Rocketfish label has a different idea: forget about making it svelte, and just hand you a full-size Bluetooth laptop keyboard that holds your iPad as well. It’s called the iCapsule, and as you can probably tell it can accommodate your slate in both portrait and landscape modes, and when you’re done it folds up into a hardshell case with an integrated carrying handle.
Features:
- Compatible with Apple iPad: For a precise fit.
- Integrated Bluetooth keyboard: Connects easily to your iPad to provide a tactile typing experience.
- Camera hole cutout on the back
- Lightweight, protective case: Allows you to transport and carry your iPad.
- Only adds about ⅛” to the iPad 2
- Embedded wireless Bluetooth physical keyboard
- Special function keys for music control, volume control, slideshow, home, search, etc.
- Remove the iPad 2 from your Logitech Keyboard Case by ZAGG for iPad 2 and your iPad 2 automatically wakes up. Place it back and your iPad 2 goes to sleep.
It does what it was intented to do
I really like my Rocketfish Keyboard. It allows me to type much more quickly than i can by using the touch screen. It also seems pretty sturdy and provides protection for the touch screen when not in use. The only down fall I can think of is that is uses batteries and there is no AC adaptor to plug it in. You can not buy one either. It also does not allow the ipad to be plugged in when in use with the keyboard so your on battery only the whole time. I am a little leary about carrying it by the handle, I’m just too afraid it might come open. I wish it had a clasp or something that had to be pushed before it would open.
What’s great about it: nice keyboard
What’s not so great: cannot be plugged in, doesnt have a latch to keep it closed

One of the best iPad accessories I’ve purchased
I just purchased this case, after looking at bluetooth cases for several months. It was worth the wait and the research to buy this one. I have a feeling this will be both the first and last keyboard for my iPad! Some of the positives, it makes you feel as if your iPad is more of a laptop that because of the way it looks and how well the screen fits into the case. While it is easy to snap the iPad in, it fits very securely. The keyboard is a pretty generous size. So the keyboard allows you to type and work very comfortably. And I love the buttons for home, cut, paste, etc at the top since it makes using the iPad functions easier. I like the design w/ the handle that makes it so easy to carry around. It’s also incredibly easy to pair to the iPad. Once you set it up, that’s it, you’re done. And it is easy to reconnect later on. The only drawbacks, for some is that there is no rechargeable battery that you can plug in like some models, batteries are required. Easy solution, buy rechargeable batteries and keep them handy. I’m not doing applications that require tons of typing, but I can see if you were someone who had to type constantly, that might be a problem. the other is that there is no way to charge your ipad or listen to any music, etc while in the landscape holder. You would have to take it out and use it in portrait if you intended to connect anything. But that’s again another minor inconvenience. I would highly recommend this case. Just love how well this case is designed, everything just feels as if it’s a quality product, and the hardshell makes it so comfortable to type on while it’s even on your lap. Again, love how well the iPad fits and how secure it feels in the case. Just incredibly easy to use and overall fantastic product.
What’s great about it: Setup, design, easy to connect, securely holds iPad
What’s not so great: can’t connect cables while in landscape, non-rechargeable – requires batteries

For iPad owners who need to type
Okay, there is no denying that you will hear, “if you’re going to get that you might as well get a laptop.” I’m not going to dignify that line of reasoning with a response.
The facts are these you own an iPad. The typing-on-the-screen function is great if you’re ordering something off a website or filling out a survey, but if you need to write pages of text, FORGET IT! You need a serious keyboard you can put in your lap and this is it.
Yes, I also own a ZAGGMATE, but this is better for serious typing. Sure the ZAGGMATE is a beautiful design, but the aluminum edges of the ZAGGMATE keyboard makes long term typing uncomfortable to say the least.
The Rocket Fish design gives you a healthy sized keyboard that’s truly comfortable to work on as long as you need.
I do wish they mold had allowed for a charger cord to be fed through to the iPad, but it does allow for a headphone jack, which is good.
So yes, maybe you should have got a laptop, but this product from Rockfish let’s you enjoy the best of both worlds.
What’s great about it: Fantastic keyboard for best of both worlds laptop/iPad versatility
What’s not so great: Wish the design has allowed for a iPad charger to be threaded through.

Not for iPad 2

I bought this case and liked it a lot, despite its bulk. Then I got an iPad2 and found it didn’t fit in the iCapsule, so I had to return it. Would definitely consider an iCapsule that fits the iPad 2, if one were made available.
What’s great about it: Works well, full size keyboard, used AA batteries so will never “break” just because the battery runs out
What’s not so great: bulky and overly large in all dimensions, including thickness. Doesn’t work with iPad 2
