Angry Birds; the ridiculously addictive iPhone, iPod and iPad game is one of my all time favorite apps without a doubt. Gear4 have announced that they will be releasing a range of Angry Birds iPad 2 cases which are so revolutionary – they even protect the back. Those crazy birds, what will they come up with next? This has to be my favorite design.

Imagine, your riding the train to work on a cold, wet, Monday morning and the guy opposite you whips out his iPad 2 with that case on it. I defy anyone who doesn’t break into even a little smile. It’s just so cheery and happy – I love it!

There are a couple of other designs also; one which looks like the original iPhone Angry Birds case and another which shows Birds v Pigs in a typical Nintendo Smash Brother style. Whichever one you get though they are all really cool. All I need now is an iPad 2.

In all, this is not the sleekest iPad case I have seen but it is quite flexible and functional. If you use your iPad for work this is a great way to take handwritten notes and have your iPad right there for searching the web, finding relevant information or whatever else you might have in mind.

I love that the case is made from recycled materials, that is it ambidextrous and has the build quality that I have long associated with Booq’s products.

This case isn’t for everyone but if you use your iPad for serious work and have the need to take handwritten notes this case is a perfect fit!

Introducing The Octavo! A Truly Artisan iPad Case!

On the outside you start with a high quality italian bonded leather that is soft and warm to the touch and looks luxurious. The profile of this case is very thin (.65” to be exact) and it weighs almost nothing at just 11 oz. It is bound like a traditional book, in fact this is where Pad and Quill got their start as a company. Inside this case you have a stunningly warm baltic birch frame that is smooth and sturdy, the layers of wood make this iPad 2 case look just like a real book. There are no sharp edges on this wooden frame, everything is hand turned and sanded down to a smooth warm finish.

The iPad 2 is held in place with their proprietary compression bumpers, and they work like a charm. You can even adjust them for added tension should you desire.
