Maybe this is my inner book worm speaking, and maybe my artistic tendencies are getting the better of me here, but I think I love the Octavo iPad 2 case by Pad and Quill so much that it hurts. Where do I start? How do I describe this case? It’s a symphony of features covered [...]Read more »
So far, iPad keyboard cases seem to follow two schools of thought — the folio and the mini-clamshell — and while both have their merits, neither do the job quite as well as the set of chiclets on your standard netbook. Best Buy’s in-house Rocketfish label has a different idea: forget about making it svelte, and just hand you a full-size Bluetooth laptop keyboard that holds your iPad as well. It’s called the iCapsule, and as you can probably tell it can accommodate your slate in both portrait and landscape modes, and when you’re done it folds up into a hardshell case with an integrated carrying handle.Read more »

Apple is in love with single piece aluminum bodies, even going as far as purchasing an aluminum manufacturer to refine the process. It makes sense then to buy a case made out of the very same material. Drawcase is a small company located in the UK that produces great looking, albeit a bit heavy, aluminum cases machined from blocks of 6061 aluminum, commonly used for home-built aircraft, which are then anodized in 4 striking colors or kept naked. Finally, the Draw logo, or your own custom logo, is laser engraved onto the front cover. The whole ordeal is kept tightly closed with the power of magnets (how do they work?). Currently, they are only available for the original iPad, but Drawcase is working on an iPad 2 model.Read more »
Miniot’s iPad 2 cover is carved from a single piece of wood and not only does it look gorgeous but it’s also extremely useful. The cover acts in much the same way as Apple’s Smart Cover. It uses magnets to hold the case snugly to the device and opening and closing it will awaken or put the iPad 2 to sleep.
Where it differs from the Apple Smart Cover is how it supports the iPad 2 when folded. Instead of folding into a triangle, the Miniot cover folds into a cylinder which makes it perfect for watching videos or using it in portrait mode. As you can see in the video, it works extremely effectively.Read more »
If you’re looking for an iPad 2 case, might as well get one that has a keyboard nestled inside. This Logitech Zaggmate Keyboard Case for iPad 2 protects your iPad while offering you a stand and keyboard at the same time.
The Zaggmate with Keyboard is essentially an aluminum hardshell case that fits onto the front of the iPad for travel, leaving the tablet’s back exposed. But inside the Zaggmate is a thin, Bluetooth keyboard and a single-position stand. When you’re ready to type, you remove your iPad from the Zaggmate, prop it up on the stand, and get to work. (Zagg also sells a non-keyboard version of the Zaggmate, which is essentially the aluminum shell with just the built-in stand for iPad viewing, for $70.) The inside edges of the Zaggmate are covered in a thin layer of foam that holds the iPad securely in place—it takes some effort to pry off the case.Read more »
I have seen many different types of iPad cases so far, but this is really the most attractive and unique one. GroveMade offers a cool handcrafted iPad 2 case with bamboo back and leather cover which is customizable for every customer.
The leather quality is top notch here, made from American vegetable tanned material. It has magnets which makes it operate similar to official Smart Covers for iPad 2. It means that iPad 2 will open or close accordingly when you open or close the case.
The leather cover also features ultra-suede lining which is effective against fingerprints and helps cleaning the screen of new iPad.Read more »
